light & truth – photography journal

If you are a photographer looking for a huge dose of inspiration- you need to get your hands on a copy of this digital pdf journal from red leaf studios. When I first received an early copy to read through I didn’t even know where to start looking…. each page was a treat and the pages were just bursting with beautiful images and inspiring words.

I had the honor of being a contributing writer for one of the articles.  It was fun for me to sit down and answer some questions about being a parent, how I run my business, organization and more.

If you purchase this journal be prepared to spend several hours immersed in it’s gorgeousness…. it is something you will read and look back on over & over! I am so glad it’s the first of many…. I am already looking forward to issue #2!!

brittany & mark – proposal

This was a photo shoot that we will remember for a long time!  I have got to give a ton of credit to Mark for being so creative and sweet in planning his proposal to Britt!  From the moment Mark emailed with his thoughts & ideas, I was pretty much giddy with excitement and anticipation…. also hoping we could pull it off exactly how he wanted!

For their anniversary last year Mark wrote Britt several letters that she could open when she wanted to feel extra loved.  There was also a letter explaining how he always knew that she was the one and how long he waited for the perfect time to propose….. but it stated “not to open until I say.” At the same time, Britt had been wanting Mark to build a toy box for their daughter Kadyn, so it was the perfect item to use as an anchor point when it came to the proposal.

We arrived to the spot Mark had chosen for the shoot, met up with Mike (one of our great past grooms) who had delivered the box.  Mike went into hiding and we got set up and ready to wait for Mark & Britt to come walking through the park.  Mark sent me a quick text when they were about to start out on their walk and then we kept our fingers crossed that Britt would not look out & see us & recognize us!

I have to say that as I scroll through the images on my computer that watching the moments unfold picture-by-picture it makes me emotional seeing the beauty of these special moments.

Thank you Mark for including us in the excitement…. it was a wonderful thing for us to witness & be a part of. And of course congratulations to the newly engaged couple and their little sweetie!  Britt…. I hope you love your surprise photos!!

And just for fun, here’s a video Mark sent that Erin took of baby Kadyn while mom & dad were off getting engaged:)

courtney & lee – engagement

I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season so far.  The blog has been very quiet the last while as I have focused on getting print orders, Christmas cards and album designs finished in time for Christmas. We have had a wonderful mild winter so far and were so glad it held out so we could photograph Courtney & Lee’s engagement session while they were home from Alberta visiting family.

Courtney is my kind of girl…. she got out of the vehicle dressed in head to toe Anthropologie- their cozy outfits were absolutely perfect for a winter shoot.  Andrew and I are both very much looking forward to Courtney & Lee’s wedding in July at the Elkridge Resort in Waskesiu.  I have no doubt that every detail of the day is going to be perfect.

Enjoy the photos of this beautiful couple!

lime tree interiors

A few years ago, my sister (and blog commenter extraordinaire!!) started doing some decorating jobs which led to her starting her own business…. lime tree interiors.  Her business took off crazy fast and she was finding that with building their own home that it was not something she had time for.  But, because she is so talented, she has had requests left, right and centre for decorating help & advice & multiple job offers from local decor stores that want her all to themselves!  (ya, I’m kind of bragging about her- but hey- she’s my sister!!)

So the time had come when Lisa decided she wanted to get a website up and running for her biz!  It has been fun for me to help a little and be part of this exciting project!  And I feel a little famous being on her site with a few pics of my own home (Lisa and I have spent more than a few late nights during her visits out here decorating and rearranging furniture!) You will have to check out her site and in the meantime, here are a few of our master bedroom- one of my fave rooms!!
