melissa & trevor – regina wedding

This past Saturday we were in Regina for Melissa and Trevor’s wedding. They are from Kipling so it was fun to see a few of our past couples there as well! From conversations with Melissa before the wedding, it was always obvious how involved Trevor was in the wedding planning, taking such an interest in everything which I think is so great! Their day came together beautifully and we were so happy to be there while they celebrated!

Random piece of information (Melissa likes random things right Mel?) At the dinner, they did something unique where at each table one person was appointed to stand up with the mic and introduce everyone sitting with you. Anyways, we had a group of the boyfriends/fiances of the bridesmaids at our table (lots of crazy laughs!!) and anyways, Andrew was introduced as Melissa and Trevor’s favorite photographer and I was the wife of the favorite photographer!! So, Andrew has been quite pleased about his status this week!! haha

a bride and bridesmaids that are totally willing to lay on the grass for pictures??!! LOVE this group of girls!!

This picture is for my niece Ayana…. her friend from school, Saje was one of the flower girls. Ayana was quite excited that she was going to see her friend on the blog!!

taylor – grad

Taylor was part of the Kipling class of 2010. We had to reschedule her session a couple times, first of all due to a broken nose, then due to rain. The third date we planned, knowing we were running out of time before Taylor heads off to school for the fall and we ended up with a perfect evening. Taylor you are a beautiful girl….. and we wish you all the best in everything your future holds.

This past Saturday we were in Regina photographing Brittany and Rob’s wedding. It rained in the morning, but the rain stayed away during pictures in the afternoon which worked out just fine!! We had a great day with these two…. hope you are enjoying your honeymoon!!

A couple weeks ago we had the opportunity to have family pictures taken by our great friends, Amy and Richard from Red Leaf Studios. Many of you will have seen them already on their blog, but I just love them sooooo much that I wanted to share them here too! I love so many things about each picture, the frog one makes me laugh because Maya was wondering why Daddy picked her such an ugly frog. (are any frogs pretty?) I love how Brielle is becoming such a young lady and these pictures really show that. And I laugh every time I think how many feathers were stuck to Desta’s hair after that pillow fight! One of my favorites is the one where the girls are reading on the bed. Even though the kitten is walking right over the pages, Maya is definitely not pretending to read…. our little bookworm is reading around and under the kitten! That girl will read anywhere, the bathtub, getting her hair done, laying on the trampoline, etc. Our entire trip to Calgary we hardly heard a sound from her there and back unless she was wanting someone to pass her a new book! I love the pillow fight on the bed…. I’m sure Andrew would say it was worth digging out from the second story of a disgusting house full of damage by racoons!! (right Andrew??!!)

I am definitely planning on creating a wall gallery of framed images from the session so I will have to share that once it is complete!

Thank you Amy & Richard from all of us, for these wonderful memories, we will cherish them forever! Not only do we love these photos…. we love the two of you and value your friendship so much!

family vacation

This past week we headed to Calgary for a little holiday. We spent a couple nights in a hotel, then stayed with some of Andrew’s cousins for the rest of the time. I will be downloading my pictures from that and going through them soon but in the meantime, I thought I’d scan a few shots from my Instax Mini. Every time we have ever walked past a Build a Bear store in the mall, the girls ooh and ahhh over all the exciting things in there! This time we decided to make a stop and let them build their own. It always is fun for me to see how something so simple can excite kids so much. And speaking of exciting, I LOVE my little Instax Mini and its tiny credit card size prints ….. it is sooo fun and easy to carry around in my purse. We are accumulating quite a collection of instax photos…. love em!!

lindsey & ben – portage wedding

Lindsey and Ben’s wedding in Portage, Manitoba was one we have been looking forward to for a while. You probably remember Lindsey & her shoot out in the field with the piano! We knew when we finally met Ben, we would like him just as much as we did Lindsey…. and it was true, they are a perfect match and wonderful to be around!

Lindsey got ready at her grandparents home in Portage. They have both passed away now, but there were many special memories at that house for them and I think it is so special that they chose to get ready there! It was also fun to shoot in a new place again….. we enjoyed all the great buildings and textures around the Portage area.

We hope you two are having a great honeymoon in Barbados…. thank you so much for letting us share in your day!!

This week we had a visit from a good friend, Jenelle who is from Cochrane, Alberta. Jenelle is also a photographer and she asked if I would take a few photos for her to have to use on her “about me” page on her site. I was excited to be able to do that for her!! We had plans to do another shoot together while she was here but we ran out of time…. so we are hoping we get a chance to do that when she comes back to Saskatchewan again…. maybe even as soon as next week! Even though our time together went way too fast, it is always fun to catch up…. a short visit is better than none at all!

Had to start off her blog post with a pair of shoes…. and not just any shoes…… gorgeous Christian Louboutin’s!!! Great taste in shoes Jenelle!!

I also have this past weekends wedding that I am working at getting up here on the blog so keep checking back for that!

lindsay & darcy – candle lake wedding

Have I ever mentioned how much I looooove outdoor ceremonies? And outdoor weddings at a place as beautiful as the Candle Lake Golf Resort is like the icing on the cake! This past weekend we headed up north to photograph Lindsay and Darcy’s wedding. The weather, the setting, the couple were all perfect!! The guys arrived to the ceremony location on a pontoon. Immediately following the ceremony the whole bridal party as well as Andrew and I hopped back onto the boat and headed across the lake to some private property to take some pictures there! I couldn’t narrow down a small selection of photos to blog so this ended up being quite a large post! Enjoy!!

tiffany & rod

Wow….. this last week has just flown and I realized I have not blogged! Lots of great stuff to hit the blog soon…. including a wedding that we shot at Candle Lake this past weekend!

Tiffany and Rod recently came out from Bulyea for their session. This past December Tiffany and Rod tragically lost their home in a house fire as well as their two Jack Russell Terriers. Everything was destroyed, including their wedding photos….. I don’t think any of us realize how many memories are in a home and what a feeling that would be. It was special to be able to photograph the two of them together, and worked out nicely that it was the day before their third anniversary!

Hope you two had a great anniversary….. it was so wonderful to spend an evening with you!

brielle – 10th birthday party

My once-little girl is growing up SO fast. Too fast sometimes, it seems. It is bittersweet, having an almost ten year old now…. I absolutely love the age that she is at and the fun that we have together, but to have a child in the double-digits has made me realize how fast these years do fly. It makes me want to treasure every single moment and remember everything.

I was so young when I had Brielle & I remember being pregnant and then the feeling of having a newborn and “playing house” with my new little baby. But, as time passed, I realized more and more how huge our responsibility was. The last year especially I have noticed how much of a young adult Brielle has become. Her interests have changed, she has matured & some of the conversations we have had have amazed me. I better not write too much more because I don’t want to embarrass her when she reads this! Brielle, you are everything we could have ever hoped for in a daughter….. thank you for brightening up each one of our days. Your whole family loves you soooooooooo much!!!
